What are you Waiting for? (OPEN)

As Annah walked around, she thought about what went on today. The events were somewhat normal but still bothered her. Her and Zander had gotten into a fight, but then again that was nothing new. In fact, it was starting to became a normal thing. After all, the two argued and bickered to no end. They just never saw eye to eye. However some of the fights became a elemental war, water against fire.

Now looking back, she felt bad about it. Why couldn’t her and Zander ever get along? It wasn’t that she hated her brother, in fact she loved him more than anything. It was just she couldn’t stand how mean and cold he was. And SHE was the one who had the water and ice powers. Well, that didn’t make sense whatsoever. Sometimes she wondered if he was bipolar. But she was about eighty percent sure he wasn’t. He just had a strange way of showing he cared for his sister.

Coming back to the present, Annah looked around. She didn’t know where she was, how on earth did she get here? She stood in the woods, She saw no exit nor any light showing the way out. She had only been in the country for a few days so she didn’t know much about the area. Still, now where was she…and how was she going to get home?

Well, she wasn’t going to worry. After all, what good would it be? If she did that, she would be lost AND panicking. And she wasn’t the worrying type. She was a bit nervous, however she wasn’t scared. She was lost in thought when she heard the bushes move. She smiled [maroon]“Come out come out whoever you are.”[/maroon] she laughed. That was what little kids say, however she wasn’t a little kid anymore, still it felt fun to say it. Something new.

She waited for the thing in the bushes to show itself but it didn’t . She glared at the bushes but then went back to her mind and kept on walking. It must have been an animal. And she guessed it was afraid of her. She looked back, to make sure it wasn’t following her, and found nothing.

She walked to a clearing and stopped. [maroon]“Ok, this is THE strangest woods I have ever seen. This was woods, there shouldn’t be any clearing…should there?"[/maroon] She asked herself. She honestly didn’t care but she was starting to worry…just a little but however. She was officially ready to go back home. Maybe she should call her brothers or sister. She looked down at her cell phone [maroon]“Of course…why would I have signal?”[/maroon] she asked herself sarcastically.

She heard something coming her way. And look at that, it was coming from some more bushes. [maroon]“Oh you have GOT to be kidding me!"[/maroon] she nearly yelled, her temper rising. She was getting tired of this game. [maroon]“Alright, last chance. Come. Out.”[/maroon] she said, her temper not exactly under control.

When she got no answer she muttered [maroon]“Fine…have it your way. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”[/maroon] she said as she struck. Ice shards flew its way to the bushes. Annah smirked, [maroon]“Are you going to come out now? What’s wrong? Are you scared?”[/maroon] she asked mockingly. She wasn’t afraid of whatever was in there. She heard something but wasn’t sure what it was, but she would face it.

If it was human she didn’t know what to do. She had never showed a human her powers. Maybe she should have thought about that before she did that. Too late now. But Annah was twenty percent sure it wasn’t human. It wasn’t good odds but it was still odds. With a harsh sigh of irritation, Annah spoke again [maroon]“Well, what are you waiting for?”[/maroon] she asked. Now she waited.

[Elliot Dantalion]

Australia wasn't his first choice of destination--he was convinced that everything on the entire continent was put there in an attempt to murder whatever they encountered--but to a creature who didn't feel the heat and, in the end, didn't need to worry about everything wanting to murder him (hello? daemon!), it was good enough. Besides, in Australia, sunglasses were justified, and he could walk around in them all he wanted and people wouldn't give him sidelong glances. Sure, if they saw him they'd certainly stare at the fact that he was wearing a black jacket and a white dress shirt, along with black pants, because it was probably sweltering out, but to the daemon Dantalion, He Who Was Used to the Immortal Flames of Hell, it was nothing.

But back to why Australia wasn't his first choice.

It wasn't that he didn't like Australia, murderous ecosystems aside, but Australia had the tendency to only be heavily populated in a few condensed areas, and Dantalion just wasn't as fond of their cafes, largely preferring the ones in Paris, with the quaint little vines growing up the side. It was easier to fulfil his quota for the month in Paris, too (Hellish orders dictated that he should probably spend less time shoving his face with pastries and more time actually collecting souls) than it was to spend arduous amounts of time searching the teeming forests of Australia.

Still, Fortune seemed to have shined her fleeting smile on him that day, for it wasn't long before his ears picked up the sound of footsteps, and with a toothy grin he had slunk (needlessly) into one of the bushes, just for the hell of it. (Ha, get it? Because Hell ordered it? That one would have made an angel splutter and blush. They tended to hate the name of Dantalion's home base of operation. Pity.) Keeping his dark eyes on her, the daemon rustled the bush, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as she stopped, calling to him with that silly children's nursery rhyme. He resisted the urge to tell her to be careful what she wished for--after all, Dantalion had appeared in the houses of children who had wished for him to "come out and play" before, whisking them away into Satan's chilly embrace.

Quota filled.

He continued to watch her in ill-concealed amusement as she started speaking to herself, and he purred lightly as a result, marvelling at how ridiculous humans were sometimes, even after thousands of years of life. Like a little lost lamb, this one had strayed from her herd and, by extension, the safety it presented. How sad. He was sure the Son could relate to that one.

The sudden burst of cold on his arm was an unwelcome surprise, however, though since daemons didn't feel cold it did little more than soak the sleeve of his jacket when it met the humid, hot Australian air. Still, that was a nice jacket, and he certainly didn't appreciate it being marred by something as petty as an elemental power. Not generally in the habit of obliging foolish humans who thought they held all the power and righteousness in their grip, he nevertheless decided to humour the girl, but not by getting up out of the bushes. Instead he vanished from his spot, appearing by one of the trees behind her and, with a cheerful note in his voice, he called out, "You look a bit lost! Maybe you should drink some water. I understand talking to imaginary things is one of the first signs of dehydration."

Annah didn’t know what to do anymore. She was having such a stressful day; she didn’t know what to do. It was hard for her, well for anyone really, to deal with her brother. But of course, she wasn’t going to go off about her issues. She just wanted the day over with.

Annah knew her brother was a pain in the neck, but she didn’t know she was getting this. In fact, she wasn’t shure what she was getting. She knew her brother could be hard to get along with, but he didn’t need to be that much of a jerk.

Coming back to the present, again, Annah heard someone talking behind her. She didn’t know how he got there, or even if he wasn’t there the entire time. Mayhap he was just behind her all along. [maroon]”Well, I don’t understand how that can happen. As you saw, I have tons of water access to.”[/maroon]

Of course, he was getting on the right thing. She proally was running out of water in her body. She had no idea when the last time she had water was. But that didn’t matter, she had to get out of here. Was she lost? Annah hated to admit it, but she knew she was lost.

[maroon]”Well, if you think I’m lost, do you want to help me find my way?”[/maroon] she asked, laughing as she looked at him [maroon]”Believe what you want, but I know you….or something….was there where I fired.”[/maroon] she growled.

[Elliot Dantalion]

The stress lines bled into the girl's face like the black veins of a Leviathan's vessel, and Dantalion's sharp eyes drank them in the way any hungry daemon's would when they sensed weakness. It was a delightful little side-effect to their design (or his, anyway), and thousands of years had only honed Dantalion's ability to read human emotions, whether they were voluntary or not. Humans, after all, had this delightful little thing called an autonomous response, and though sometimes it would result in a longer chase than Dantalion preferred to give, other times it just meant copious amounts of amusement.

Human social situations were remarkably like their politics, Dantalion thought absently as he craned his neck to look up at the large tree he was leaning against, unconcerned with the threats this girl could not pose towards a creature of his particular class and species. And by that he meant superior of course; Dantalion was a professional denizen of hell by trade, daemon extraordinaire, commander of an itty bitty 36 legions of Hell's army, and side-gambler. Honestly, what hadn't he seen? Besides human innovation, there was remarkably little things that surprised him these days.

"Oh, maybe you do," the daemon chirruped as he turned his response back to the gifted girl. "But that water must come from somewhere, and I'm willing to bet you need to replenish it with a supply of what must be at least a little of your own body liquid. And out here, with no clean water to drink from... well, that can get pretty dangerous."

Unconcerned, he raised a cigarette to his mouth, delighting in the smoke that escaped from his mouth when he blew out, immune to the health side-effects such a delightful product was sure to produce. Of course, he really only smoked them because it looked cool, as because he was a daemon he was immune to the positive euphoria that smoking often triggered in the complex mass of a normal human's brain, but that was also something he didn't spend much thought on.

When the girl laughed he smirked, flicking the cigarette to the ground before one of his hands slid into his pocket, grasping the piece of brimstone he kept there, as a fond reminder of his beloved home base. Of course, the fact that the little rock doubled as a quota list didn't help, and he pulled it out and bounced it in his palm a couple times before he gleaned the information he needed from it.

AnnahBella, elemental human, soul intact. The daemon smirked as the information entered his head. The brimstone didn't do much other than serve as a reminder and glorified paperweight most of the time, but it was particularly useful in telling him things like that thanks to an enchantment he'd had put on it after losing a bet to Andras, sower of sower of discord and Grand Marquis of Hell. Although the marquis only had a paltry thirty legions to call his own, as opposed to Dantalion's splendid thirty-six!

Mmm... how splendid. He practically purred as he turned back to the girl, black eyes glimmering.

"Now, you see, I'm not particularly in the business of helping little lost sheep for free," he drawled, drumming his fingers on the wood of the tree trunk. "And, well, maybe there was! Australia is rather ripe with a veritable number of species who want nothing more than to murder you--" Dantalion hilariously one of those murderous species, of course, but she didn't know that "--and some of them like hiding in bushes. Doubtless it fled when it was confronted by an enemy who, for lack of any better words, shot a shitton of ice at it. Or it could be dead. Those spikes were sharp-looking."

Annah wasn't shure what he wanted, and she wasn't shure if she wanted to be around him long enough to find out. But in spite of herself, she smirked when he said that the thing that was there was proally dead now because of her ice [maroon]"Yes, well I've had practice..."[/maroon] she said, smirking.

[maroon]"So, why are you here? And what is the price you mentioned?"[/maroon] try as she might, she knew she was lost and she didn't exactly have a way back home. She could use her water and surf back home, but that would cause a rukus...besides, she didn't want to risk being found.

However, she didn't like the way this man kept looking at her. Annah looked down, just to make shure she wasn't wearing anything that showed too much. But she wasn't. She was in a tee shirt and jeans, same thing she wore every day.
