Sara stood in the middle of a clearing in the forest she had known to call home. From the birds calling to each other to the trees swaying in the wind, she heard it all. Her eyes were closed as she found it easier to hear things than if she was looking around. She could pinpoint sounds and cracks in the winds that would sound minute before. Her brown hair blew in the breeze so that it floated behind her. She gave a small sigh and smiled. She enjoyed this life. Maybe a little too much, but nonetheless she did.
Her eyes opened when she heard the crack of a twig on the ground. Her hand went to her hip where a little dagger was located. The trees hasn't said anything about danger, so she wasn't too scared. It was more of just a precautionary thing. It was then that she looked to the ground in front of her to see a little bunny. It had hesitated in going forward when seeing her. But squatting down on the ground and holding out her hand she called to it. She gave a small low whistle before speaking. "Come along now. I won't hurt you."
It hesitated a moment longer before hopping forward. It was nervous to touch her hand, but when Sara didn't move, it leaned into her. Sara smiled and pick it up. Holding it to her, she lightly stroked its head and back. This was what she loved most about being a Ranger. The way the animals trusted her. She stood up and walked over to a rock. It was perfect height, in which her feet would just barely touch the ground.
She leaned back on it, as the bunny laid in her lap. Luckily the sun didn't appear to bright right here and she dropped her head back slightly. With one hand holding her leaning body up, she pet the bunny with her other hand.
She could sit like this for hours. And she felt herself getting relaxed. Her eyes closed softly as she laid back on the rock. The bunny stayed next to her, but instead of on her lap, curled up next to her face. She felt herself drift into a bit of a slumber. She was awoken by the sudden loss of fur next to her face. Not only that, but the trees were rustling in an angry way. Someone was near her that wasn't supposed to be here. She just saw the little flash of a tail as it disappeared into a rabbit hole.
Sara stood up and looked around. Not knowing why the trees were do stirred up, she walked over to one and climbed it. She went from tree to tree. The branches seemed to come together so she wouldn't have a chance of falling. She stopped when the trees told her to stop. Looking down, she could see someone. But she couldn't tell if they were boy or girl, at least not from this height. She lowered herself down slightly to try and get a better look.
