Autumn was flying high in the sky with Tabby, her dragon when she heard something going on. She didn't really want to go down, for this was the land of the Rangers, and they weren't the nicest things to Dragon riders, but Autumn wanted to help, so she flew down, hiding Tabby high on a hill. [maroon]"Now, stay here until I get back. And please, don't look for me..."[/maroon]
Autumn headed out, and was walking carefully, it was clear something was making the woods unhappy. The woods of the Rangers were normally quiet, but the trees seemed upset somehow.
She was trying to hid and run at the same time, when she bumped into someone. She gasped, and then grabbed his wrist, hiding them behind a tree. [maroon]"Aren't you from around here? No one who isn't a Ranger never comes into the land of the Rangers. Now, keep quiet and follow me...I'll attempt to get us out of here...alive..."[/maroon] she said, holding out her hand while waiting for him to see if he wanted to go.

Mitch was lost. And really, he was getting tired of being lost. He didn't know his way around here, his map from back home sure as heck didn't work. He was glad that he always came prepared though. His backpack always had warm clothes and a small tent. God forbid, he didn't have that stuff when he went on a hunt for The Order. His parents trained him well. He had left the city earlier this week.
He had stayed there long enough and no one there had been able to help him. When he talked off his home they looked at him like he was crazy. He gave a sigh as he leaned off the tree that he had leaned against for a rest. Even this forest seemed weird. If he didn't know better, he would say that it was mad at him. He just didn't get a good feeling, but it didn't matter. He was lost. He couldn't find his way out.
When he heard a rustling coming from behind him, he turned a girl came running out and bumped into him, then had grabbed his wrist and pulled him behind a tree. His eyebrows rose for a moment until she started talking. Rangers? Like Park Rangers? Why would they kill someone for going in their forest? Shouldn't they just toss them out of whatever. She held out her hand for him to take and he hesitated.
A quick once over of the girl, and he decided it wasn't so bad to trust at least someone. He was lost anyways and maybe she could get him out. Besides, she looked human and she didn't seem magical really. He grabbed onto her hand and nodded his head. "Lead the way. I was just getting myself more and more lost. And to answer your question, no. I'm not from around here." He waited for her to start leading the way before he too followed quietly.

Autumn knew that he wasn't from around here. He smelled from another land. Problem was, she didn't know where he was from. She clasped his hand, and started to walk, slowly. She knew if she wasn't careful, they would both be dead.
[maroon]"How are you on flying?"[/maroon] she said as they walked. She needed to know what he would do if he found her dragon. But then again, he didn't really have a chance except to trust her.
[maroon]"Where are you from?"[/maroon] she asked as they continued to walk. Just then, she heard voices, and knew that she had to hide them. But where? Trees were around, but she knew they would find them. [maroon]"Here!"[/maroon] she said and swung them around another tree. She got close up against him, trying to cerserve space. [maroon]"Sorry...stay quiet."[/maroon] she said, her mind and body not agreeing. Her mind knew she was doing this for survival, but her body was aware of how close he was.

They started walking slowly and Mitch wondered for a moment how she knew her way around. Especially if she thought they could both get hurt...or well something in here. He continued to look around everything looked the same to him though. When she started speaking, he turned his head to her slightly. Flying? "I love flying. But it depends on what kind. Helicopters and airplanes freak me out. Make me feel trapped. But parachuting, sky gliding, and free falling are fun activities that my family and I do."
He paused for a moment thinking. His answer was stupid. He hadn't seen one plane or helicopter this whole time he had been here. But how was he to answer the question about where he was from? He sighed and was just about to answer when she froze. He barely heard the talking and wondered how she registered it before he did. But before he had time to consider this, all of a sudden he was pulled around a tree again. It took a moment for his mind to register exactly how they were standing. But when he did, he felt his eyes widen slightly.
She stepped closer to him, but he really had nowhere to go. His back was pressed up against the tree. So he just nodded. His looked at her for a moment and felt the urge to avert his eyes. She was close, and he would be stupid to say that she wasn't pretty. But he softly cleared his throat and spoke in a whisper since it was obvious they shouldn't be talking normally. "I don't think we ever exchanged names. Mitch Frost. And I'm from...far away."

Autumn looked at him like he had three heads when he answered her question about flying. [maroon]"What are those creatures? I've never heard of a...what was it...helicopter? Is that a monster of some kind? And airplane? Are they related?"[/maroon] she asked, a bit confused on what it was he was talking about.
She felt his eyes on her, and felt his body tense when she was up against him. She blushed when she felt his eyes on her, but she knew she had to save him some how.
When he told her his name, Autumn smiled at the thought. It was a nice name, and she was glad he trusted her enough with his name, so she decided it was best if she did the sane [maroon]"Autumn...Autumn Lovely.."[/maroon] she said.
She was never one to think her name was odd, because she really never heard of normal names. And other than that, she never met anyone that had a normal name.
Coming back, she heard the voices come closer. Autumn grimanced, she didn't want a fight. [maroon]"If they get too close, I'm going to have to fight them...I hate fighting..."[/maroon] she said, mostly to herself.
She heard a sound, that sounded like....her dragon?
Shure enough, as soon as Autumn heard the sound, Tabby was flapping her wings, trying to lower herself to where Autumn was. Autumn sighed [maroon]"Dammit Tabby! I told you to stay in the sky! You needed to stay hidden!"[/maroon] she said and turned around to face her huge dragon. She then grabbe3d Mitch's hand, and smiled, turning back to him [maroon]"Do you trust me? If you do, up you go."[/maroon] she wouldn't get on her dragon until she knew he was safe.

Mitch opened his mouth to reply about the airplane and helicopter, but stopped. How could he describe it? If she didn't know what they were than obviously it wouldn't help to just say a thing that's operated by humans to move people from one place to another. Then she would probably ask how it works. He would say gas. Then it would just keep on going until he couldn't answer. So he decided to go with the easiest questions for now until he could figure out what he could say.
"Yes they are sort of related. No they aren't monsters." He paused a moment before continuing again. "They are made by people. They can carry a lot of people from one place to another. Don't ask how they work because I can't really tell you. I don't really know." He gave a small smile and hoped he would just drop it.
When he found out her name he grinned. Autumn Lovely. He caught himself before he could say something stupid like "that's a lovely name." That would just be stupid and common. "That's a nice name."
At the word fight his eyes narrowed and he looked above her head slightly. "You won't be the only one. I'm a capable fighter. It's what I live for basically." He didn't say what he fought. Least she be something that he did have to kill he was hoping she wasn't. She seemed really nice. That's when he heard a noise. It sounded like flapping. But bigger than a...bird?
A dragon came out of the sky. A dragon. Dragon?! Mitch's eyes widened slightly. Sure he's dealt with vampires, werewolves, shifters, elementalists, but a dragon? That was crazy. Then Autumn started talking to it. It's name was Tabby? He gave a sigh. What else was in this world that he didn't know about? How could he get out of here?
She asked about him trusting her. He looked between her and the dragon. She looked scared too. And whatever was coming was making more and more noise. With what he had in his backpack, he wasn't sure if it would work. Nothing he had would kill a dragon. What if what was here was worse? Even though what could really be worse than a dragon. He nodded. "Sure. I mean if I don't theres a possibility of death right?" He gave a half-grin as he looked at the huge dragon.

Autumn was a bit confused when he was talking about the air plane. How could something be made by people, and carry people from one location to the other? It just seemed completely impossible.
At the comment on her name, Autumn smiled [maroon]"It's simple... It is proally common."[/maroon] she said, trying to be nice to him. It was hard, because they were being chased. she knew they didn't have much time, for time wasn't on her side just at the moment.
When he said that he was a fighter, Autumn glared at him [maroon]"Here, in this land, we fight only when needed. We are not fighters, but we know how to...just in case. So please, no bloodshed.."[/maroon] she said. He wasn't from around here, so she knew she had to show him how to handle things.
[maroon]"The dragon? Tabby? She's safe, I promise you...she wouldn't harm anyone who is a friend of mine..."[/maroon] she said, then looked at him [maroon]"You are a friend? Are you not? Pick a side, because if you think I am, go up...they are coming..."[/maroon] she said, not waiting to see if he was going to come up. She knew they had to get out of here, because as soon as they got into the clearing, the arrows would start flying...

Mitch recoiled slightly when she snapped at him about the fighting. He didn't know why, but he really didn't want her greeting upset at him. Maybe it was the whole, she was saving his life thing. Then of course he almost became a bit of a smart ass and almost said something along the lines of "than why are they going to start firing at us." But he didn't.
Showed how much he really wanted to get saved. He looked to Autumn and Tabby and then back at where the sounds were coming from. After a moments hesitation, he nodded. "Yes. I am a friend." He climbed up onto Tabby's back, trying to find a comfortable spot among the flapping and moving. But he also wanted to make sure Autumn had enough room.
Once he was pretty well settled and she was as well, his arms went to wrap around her waist. It was only instinct after all. Besides, this was sketchy to the young male. His face turned a slight red, glad that she was facing forward. "Hope this is fine. I just don't want to fall. If it isn't just go ahead and tell me." He managed to make his voice sound confident and sure as he spoke.
He was hoping she really wouldn't mind. He kind of liked this. He looked around still hearing whatever was coming after them as he waited for her to go.

Autumn wasn't shure what to make of this boy. It seemed that he didn't know what to do, but that was okay, because that was why she was here.
She blushed when he wrapped his arms around her waist. She tried her best to sound indifferent, but it was fairly hard [maroon]"Its......its fine. Just try to stay close and not to fall off...."[/maroon] she said and up they went.
She saw as they fired, but it soon became too small for her to see anything that could harm her. With her blond hair blowing in the wind, Autumn smiled in spite of herself. [maroon]"Where do you wish to go??"[/maroon] she asked as she turned her head back a bit, to see his face and she knew he saw what she feared, her cheeks red from blushing, as well as from the wind blowing in her face

Mitch gave a small smile as she spoke. She sounded unsure of herself and it made him feel better knowing someone was just as unsure as he was. Heck! He was thrusting his life into some randoms girl hands. He nodded though and looked over the side of the dragon as they flew up and out of reach of the arrows. His hands ached to get into his bag and send something back at them but knew that would not be in his best interest considering how this girl had reacted towards his mention of fighting only moments before.
Autumn turned towards him slightly and he saw a tinge of pink. His only sign of seeing was a small smile. It would be rude to comment on that and rude he was not. He was glad his blush had subsided. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "Up to you I guess. I know next to nothing about this land. So I don't know where it is safe for me. Plus," he smiled slyly, "safe isn't fun." He looked over the side at the forest far below him and a sense of vertigo came over him as he tilted slightly to the side before straightening back up, the slight tighten of his arms showing the uneasiness he felt.

Autumn would be foolish to say that this boy didn't bother her. And what annoyed her more was the way he was able to handle as if he didn't have a care in the world. While she, being the dragon rider that she was, was having issues breathing and having him NOT affect her. But, Autumn smiled. It was rare when she had people to talk to.
For the past.....well who knew how long it had been, it was just Tabby and Autumn. Once, long ago, Autumn tried to make friends. But it didn't work well. Other dragon riders were just shallow beings, while dragons hated her kind. But, it wasn't like Tabby was held hostage, or forced. In fact, it was Tabby that saved Autumn from a death with the Dragons. If it wasn't for her, Autumn would have died long ago.
Coming back to the present, Autumn felt his hands tighten and gasped, not shure if he was making a move. [maroon]"Hey....are you alright back there?"[/maroon] she asked, but smirked [maroon]"Well, if it isn't safe you want, you were in the right place. But how about we try taking it slow the next few hours..."[/maroon] she said. Safe may not be what he wanted, but it was what she wanted.

Mitch couldnt help but smile. Sure, the circumstances as to why he was here sucked, but at least he was finally talking to someone normal. Well, as normal as one could get while riding a dragon with someone who was supposedly bonded to them. His mind went back to his home. His family. Did the Order even know es out this place?
If so, could they provide the rescue he needEd to get out. He highly doubted it. But he knew he could wish. It seemed like it had been months since he had last seen his sisters smiling face. Or his moms cooking. Or his dad taking him out hunting for rogue vampires. His eyes narrowed at the thought of that last one. That stupid vampire who his parents went after sand sent that cursed fairie to distract Mitch by taking him here.
At her gasp, he loosened his hold and grimaced slightly. "Sorry about that. But not really. Heights fine. Heights on back aof a species that isn't supposed to exist? Not so fine."
[/b] He gave a small laugh. "Fine. I guess safe would be better for now. Where are you going to take me?" He hoped there weren't other dragons where they were going. One dragon in his agenda was enough. [/blockquote]

Autumn smiled, even though he couldn't see it. It was nice having someone to talk to. When he asked where they were going, Autumn laughed nervously. [maroon]"Well, where would you like to go? I'm assuming Rangers are out...elves.....well you met them. There are my kind, dragon riders, and the other land of dragons. I can take you to the Outland..."[/maroon] Autumn's eyes darkened at the thought.
The Outlands were a place no one wanted to be. They were dangerous and Autumn would never allow Tabby to go there. She cared about her friend, so letting her go to a dangerous place was out of the question.
[maroon]"Of course, the Outlands aren't the best place to go...people die there. Evil is made there...."[/maroon] she said, and shivered without really meaning to. She didn't mean to, but thinking about it scared her to no end.
Post by Mitch Michael Frost on Aug 2, 2013 0:14:05 GMT -5
The way Autumn's tone sounded about the Outlands, Mitch wasn't about to ask to go there. And she basically answered any questions he was going to ask about it. Evil? Huh. He might have to look into that one day. But today definitely wasn't that day. He had enough almost near death encounters. As he was about to talk, it was then he registered her shivering. He gave a slight frown and leaned back enough for his hands to rest comfortably on her arms as he rubbed them. As if he was warming her, which he thought she was cold.
It was then he spoke. "Take me wherever you feel most comfortable. I have nowhere to be. I've just been traveling so I don't have a set home either. As long as your kind won't kill me off, I'll be fine there." He stopped warming her arms, suddenly very aware of what he had kind of done without really thinking. A light blush crept to his face as he wrapped his arms back around her waist instead. But even this was different.
Sure she was attractive and had they been in a different situation he would've been flirting it up with her. But right now, running, or flying for their lives, and just meeting her? Well that felt wrong to him. But what else was he supposed to do. If he didn't hang onto her, he had a feeling he would fall.
Post by Autumn Claire Lovely on Aug 4, 2013 21:21:17 GMT -5
Autumn smiled at him, and laughed [maroon]"I'll take you to my people place..."[/maroon] she said as she laughed. It was odd that he warmed his hands against her, but she liked it. Which was odd, because she wasn't supposed to be enjoying it, she was supposed to be watching him...protecting him.
[maroon]"Now, some people don't like outsiders, so if they give you looks, please don't kill them.."[/maroon] she said, glancing at the waist of him, where she thought she saw weapons, but she wasn't shure on that.
Autumn faced forward and talked to Tabby this time [maroon]"Go low, but not so low that you would risk hitting the homes of us. We need to land, and try for a place that isn't in town. You know how the elders get when you fly crazy..."[/maroon] she laughed as she rolled her eyes.
